Physical activity, movement and fun are crucial to overall
development. All our students and mentors do at least one extra mural and gym. We
offer hip hop, karate and gym at en-Light-ed and some of our students also do
soccer offsite.

Why Karate?
Karate teaches self-defence.
Building reflexes to stand up to a threat is important for children. Karate builds
confidence, hones leadership skills, develops character, encourages self-discipline,
and promotes healthy living. By practising martial arts, you
can master your mind and your emotions. That can help you develop greater
emotional stability, assertiveness, self-confidence, and lessen aggressive
feelings. Just like
exercise strengthens your body, challenges strengthen your mind. Martial arts
can help by teaching you how to bounce back from setbacks and the importance of
not letting life get you down, no matter how hard things get.

Hip hop classes provide a fast-paced, yet fun environment in which your child will get exercise and make new friends. Learning to dance is a great way to bring shy children out of their shells and build confidence.
